Dear Friends,
On December 19, 2019 Pope Francis released an Apostolic Letter Admirabile signum or “Enchanting image” about the Nativity. He said, "The nativity scene is like a living Gospel." "The depiction of Jesus’ birth is 'a joyful proclamation of the mystery of the Incarnation of the Son of God,' the nativity scene invites everyone who contemplates it 'on a spiritual journey, drawn by the humility of the God who became man in order to encounter every man and woman'".
Last Christmas, (my first Christmas here), so many of you commented about the beauty of the Church! It is my hope to enhance the beauty and this "encounter" with the "Word made Flesh" for our parish community.
The new 72" life-size nativity is hand painted and made of fiberglass. It includes all the necessary figures with an addition of: sheep, camel, rooster, and duck. Why a duck? Why not!
When so much attention is given to what divides us, generosity brings us together! The face of Christ brings us together! I ask you to donate towards this "enchanting image" for our Church. No gift is too small.
You can place your donation in the collection labeled Church Nativity or click the link below.
Thank you in advance!
In Christ,
Fr. James
